Largest Blood Donor Group in Bangladesh

About Us

In every two seconds someone in South East Asia needs a blood transfusion. Bangladesh needs more than 8 lakh units of blood annually to meet the needs of the population; in 2015 it had approximately 6 lakh units. There are many circumstances arising from blood disorders including Anemia, Aplastic Anemia, Sickle Cell Anemia, Thalassemia, Myelofibrosis, Myeloma, Myelodysplasia, Leukemia, Lymphoma, Immune Thrombocytopenic Purpura, Essential Thrombocytosis, Clotting Disorders,Hemophilia, Von Willebrand Disease, Hypercoagulable states, Hemochromatosis, accident, undergone surgery, suffered a miscarriage, lost blood during childbirth and so on, where patients need blood to stay alive.

Blood can’t be manufactured or produced; it can only be donated by humans. In most of the cases, it has been observed that the patients don’t receive safe blood as & when required which results untimely death. Though there are many voluntary organizations working for ensuring safe blood transfusions, they are working from different platforms, which results no effective solution for ensuring safe blood & blood for patients from rural & remote areas.

According to the scenarios presented above, we are in need of a single platform that will bring all individual donors, groups, clubs & voluntary organizations under the same umbrella so that the patients from any corner of the country can easily receive blood as & when required without any hassle. In a word, developing a bridge between donors & receivers that will ensure timely safe blood transfusions required for the patients is a must.

This project has been developed and initiated often targeting the following blood seekers: Patients of blood disorders or diseases Patients caused by accidents Patients undergoing surgery Patients suffered a miscarriage Patients lost blood during childbirth.

Objectives of the Project: The overall objectives of the project outlined as follows: To provide assistance to blood seekers to find donors in their nearest areas To develop and encourage a blood donation culture by raising awareness among people to donate blood To ensure regular support to patients with blood diseases like Thalassemia, Blood Cancer who need blood periodically or on urgent basis To make mass people aware of the danger of unsafe blood transfusion and blood related diseases emphasizing on HIV/AIDS To organize blood donation camp activities in Colleges, Universities and other institutes throughout the year To develop a bridge between donors & seekers that will ensure timely safe blood transfusions required for the patients To bring all individual donors, groups, clubs & voluntary organizations under the same umbrella so that the patients from any corner of the country can easily receive blood

Output of the Project: The final output of the project will be the introduction of a unique platform comprising web portal, android, iOS and windows based app to enable blood seeker receiving blood from donors as & when required within a very short time. Besides the aforementioned output, few other results are expected from the project mentioned below: Blood seekers will be aware of receiving safe blood Donors will be encouraged to donate blood through different campaigns Mass people will be aware of different blood related diseases Underprivileged people from remote areas will also be interlinked with the mainstream of the project to ensure their health safety People from all walks of life will be encouraged to check up their blood whether they donate or receive blood to avoid any complicated diseases.
